“Mass Exodus: AAP MLAs Rebel Against Kejriwal Ahead of Delhi Polls”

Just five days before the Delhi Assembly elections, seven MLAs of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) resigned from the primary membership of the party.

Delhi Vidhan Sabha elections 2025: Five days before the Delhi Vidhan Sabha elections, the assembly members resigned from the basic principles of the party (AAP).

Paalam Vidhayak Bhavana Gauri, who is expected to be a big blow to Delhi’s ruling party, sent a letter to AAP’s national planner Arvind Kejriwal, saying he was resigning because he had lost faith in both him and the party.

Bhavana Gaur wrote in the letter, “I am resigning on behalf of the general public of the party as I have lost faith in you and the party. Please accept it.”

Apart from Gaur, other six prominent MLAs resigning from you include Naresh Yadav from Maharauli, Rajesh Rishi from Janakapuri, Madan Lal from Kastoraba Nagar, Rohit Maharauliya from Trilokapuri, Bees Joon from Bijawasan and Pavan Sharma from Adarsh Nagar.

It is noteworthy that this step has been taken after AAP denied tickets to seven sitting MLAs for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections to be held on February 5.

Naresh Yadav, who was chosen as the AAP candidate for Mehrauli seat, was convicted by a Punjab court in December in a case of desecration of Quran and sentenced to two years in prison.

When AAP released its fifth list of candidates for the Delhi elections, Mahendra Chaudhary was made the new candidate from Mehrauli, replacing Naresh Yadav.

Similarly, the AAP has fielded new faces on the remaining six seats. According to the party’s list of candidates, it has fielded Mukesh Goyal from Adarsh Nagar, Praveen Kumar from Janakpuri, Surendra Bhardwaj from Bijwasan, Joginder Solanki from Palam, Ramesh Pehelwan from Kasturba Nagar and Anjana Parcha from Trilokpuri.

Elections are scheduled to be held in Delhi on February 5 and the results will be declared on February 8. A total of 699 candidates are in the fray for the 70 assembly seats in Delhi.
